Reflection Questions: Motion Photography

I think my best shot in this assignment is the 4th one because it's in blurred motion and it clearly shows the objects movement, the colors are also appealing to the eye. The weakest shot in this assignment was the 2nd one because the color of the dye dropped in the water was close to the same color as the water so it wasn't as clear. I think the 2nd picture could have been improved if the water was clean or if I used a darker dye. I used Photoshop to edit the levels and the hue/saturation. I was able to meet the goals for this assignment by having people move different lighting up objects while I took many pictures. It was easy to take the blurred motion photos because I had people move the objects in different ways to create different looks in the pictures. It was difficult to take stop motion pictures because the color of the water was close to the color of the dye. If I could do this assignment again I would take different photos to show stop motion. On a scale from 1-10 I ...

1.)Stop Motion 2.)Blurred motion How does manipulating the shutter spe ed and aperture influence the outcome of your images? It shows the movement of the object when the picture is taken slower. The picture looks stopped when the picture is taken faster.

Reflection Questions: Depth of Field

I think the best shot in this assignment was the second one (low depth of field because it was clear that the focus was on the background. The first picture was the weakest because it wasn't as clear what the focus was on. It could have been improved if the fire hydrant was more blurry. On Photoshop I edited the levels and the hue/saturation. I was able to meet the goal for this assignment by taking multiple photos and using my camera to make the main focus either low or high depth of field. For this assignment it was easy to take a lot of pictures because there were so many different things to photograph. It was difficult to make sure the quality of the picture was good because sometimes the camera would not go in focus. If I could do this assignment again I would have taken more pictures and gotten closer to some of the objects. I would rate my effort a 9 because I took many pictures and edited them to make them look better but could've done more.

1&2.)High depth of field 3&4.) Low depth of field

Artist Reflection: Backlighting

I think the best shot in this assignment was the first one because the background was all white and the focus was on the person sitting in the chair. The persons shadow was also not grey  so it made the picture look better. The second picture was the weakest because it wasn't as clear. It could have been improved if the people were standing closer to the sheet. On Photoshop I edited the levels, hue/saturation, and I used curves. I was able to meet the goal for this assignment by having other people pose behind the sheet so hat i could take pictures. It was easy to edit these pictures because there were so many different ways to make it look good. It was difficult to make sure the quality of the picture was good because the people had to stand close to the sheet in order for the shapes to be clear. If I could do this assignment again I would have the people stand closer to the sheet. I would rate my effort a 9 because I took many pictures and edited them to make them look better.

Texture Reflection Questions

I think the best shot of this assignment was the sequence because it's clear and in focus. The weakest shot of this assignment was the picture of the seashell because the details on the shell weren't as clear. The weakest image can be improved by taking the photo closer to the seashell. To edit the photos I used Photoshop. I edited the hue/saturation and adjusted the levels. I was able to meet the goals of the assignment by taking more than 30 photos of 3 different textures and editing the 3 best ones. An easy part of this assignment was finding 3 different textures because there are textures everywhere. One part of this assignment that was difficult was making sure the lighting was good because I took 2 of the photos inside the classroom and the light was not very bright. If I were to do this again I would take the pictures outside in more natural bright light. On a scale from 1-10 I would rate my effort a 9 because I took many pictures of different textures to find which ones...

1. The texture in this picture is the rough edges of the pine cone, 2. The texture in the picture is the sequence on a pillow. 3. The texture in the picture is all of the little ridges on the seashell .

Ansel Adamz

What type of Photography does Ansel master in? Ansel masters in black and white pictures of different scenes in nature.  How does he bring out the textures in his objects? He brings out the textures in his objects by taking the pictures from different angles. What is your opinion on his work? I like his work because I like pictures of the environment. Why do you feel this way? I feel this way because I find pictures of nature to be very beautiful, calming and subtle.

Composition Refection Questions

1. Which picture is the best shot of this assignment? Why?   I think my best shot for this assignment was the one for simplicity because I thought the colors were good quality and it was very clear.     2. Which picture is the weakest shot of this assignment?  Why?   I think the weakest picture was the one that showed multiple objects because the sunlight is reflecting  off  the glass with a flower in it.      3. How can the weakest image be improved on in future shoots?   The weakest image can be improved in future shots by taking the shot from a different a ngle  so the sun doesn’t reflect on the objects.  4. Did you use Photoshop, Lightroom, or both?  What tools in the programs did you use to edit the pictures?    I used my phone to edit by using the filters on the camera.      5. Explain how were you able to meet the objectives (GOALS) of the assignme...

Composition: Points to Ponder

Image
6. This emphasizes height and distance because the horizon is placed in the lower half of the picture.    7. This shows leading lines because when someone looks at this picture their eyes will follow the way the ducks are facing 8. This shows multiple objects because there are multiple things in the picture.

Composition: Points to Ponder

Image
1. This picture shows  simplicity  because there is no background distraction and the focus is on one object.   2. This picture shows brightness and sharpness because it is colorful and the picture is clear and not grainy.  3. This picture gives an example of the rule of thirds  because the main focus of the picture is placed in the left 3 boxes on the grid. 4. This a good example of avoiding "bull's eye" because the objects are not directly placed in the middle. 5. This emphasizes foreground  because the horizon is in the top of the picture.

There is a difference between a Snap Shot and Artistic Photography. A Snap Shot is taken in the moment. Artistic Photography has a mood and looks more pleasing to the eye.

9/11

I  think this photo is in Time Magazine's 100 Best Collection because  it touches people. It was peaceful unlike all of the other violent pictures. People thought they could relate to it because they could have been in the same situation as him and make a decision.
